Things I miss about Idaho, but not everything

MAXO MAIN2ONE MAN & A TOW TRUCK[2]

I’m having trouble figuring out how to start this, because the memories both good and bad overlap so much.

First; when it comes to Idaho at least the part I resided in, had some great times. The club was founded there at the Snake River Grill, and those Hazzard sunsets, warm nights and peace beyond belief. Of course there are those memories that slyde in remembering how a small rural area of 15,000 people made me go from passive, to aggressive and turn mean. Mean to the point I barely trust anyone any more except for club members. Then there was all those warning signs from the haul moving me from Pocatello, to Glenn’s Ferry. If I had known who it was crawling up my ass all the time in Pocatello, I’d have just ridded the world of that pest. Then there was that blog or whatever it was that the Mountain Home News, just begged me to write when I tried to turn them down. All I wanted to do in Glenn’s Ferry is hermit myself there and shut out everyone, including radio, tv, and all. Then of course there was everything short of being tarred and feathered. The move from Glenn’s Ferry was good, but Bud being Bud moved me from there to Gooding and when expenses exceeded income from Gooding to Bliss. With a stop on the near ignition of all things that eventually made up HazzardAyre. Remembering back I was to blind to see the invites to turn up the heat with Nurse GoodBody, but I kept it too professional. Things you want to fix but can’t, right?

Then I ran into Rick, got together with Charlie, and even now try to think why did I move, but I can say I’m in some ways better off now than then. I have great neighbors, one next door, who I talk to long hours, two across the street that invite me over for beers and pizza . These things I never felt in my dear Idaho.

Now then saw on the MHI Bitch line that someone put a post up saying for me not to go back there. Before I ever and I’ll do it if I want to, but I have no plans for that. As before I ever see Idaho, except to retrieve some things from the move here and of course LexiBelle, I just asooned not be counted as a Idaho’n, but rather a transplanted Confederate.

Idaho has great beauty, the crystal clear lakes, the open spaces, too bad the minds of some there are not as open.

My day in radio, and what’s next? That in my next entry.

Keep it trucking

Getting rid of more Facebook friends

hooker phootenotes1max o logo main

It’s getting more often, somebody wants to be a friend of mine, on Facebook. So I grudgingly put em on. Trouble is many of these applicants to befriended are people who do not correspond or greet or share anything.

Many of those I seem to acquire, I think want to be some talent or something of or for the radio network. Trouble is all too many live way too far away to even remotely make that happen.

Okay then lets talk the Radio network.EllieMayandIanstation, HazzardAyre is growing and growing rapidly, sometimes swallowing up territory and requiring more work than the 6 volunteers of the club and I can handle. We’re still struggling with gaining female on air talent, but something tells me after the big promo push during the holidays and into spring, they’ll be there.

Grudgingly, I have to say as it sits right now, we wont be on SOA, but maybe that’s a good thing, maybe its time to move past that into what we are a trucker group rather than an MC. That was after all what we began as and what invigorated and resurrected the entire club.

So then ; HazzardAyre has created two online radio shows and over time all will be linked together as one main website with hyperlinks to all three. There’ll be kountry trucker radio in the form, of Maximum-Overdrive/DixieDiesel Radio. For us in toewing , of course , Highway Hooker Radio, and the mothership HazzardAyre covering 12 hours a day of none stop, fight the system Confederate gearhead wingnut radio. Eventually TV is in the thought process, but learning from years ago, one step at a time, and only as money is available.

But we are rolling and its refreshing.

Sadly though all the disbelievers, the antagonists, the detractors , and others from Mountain Home to Burley Idaho from Idaho Falls to Jackpot Nevada, that never wanted to climb aboard, the women in Twin Falls, even Hazzard itself that interviewed but never followed through, will be left in the dust, with their heads in their hands and me saying you once had a spot here, your now the tailings of what is and what’s growing.

Why CraigsList as a recruitment tool? It’s free.

Good numbers ya’ll

There’s rooms then there are rooms

max o logo mainA HOOKER TOW BLOG HEADER_thumb

Over the last several weeks in anticipation, while still having my place here in Ogden, I started looking at rooms for rent in Bountiful.

From what I came away with in my opinion, I have a great hard to believe but true bargain.

Which makes me wonder, why isn’t there a barrage beating down the door with applicants? I’m not that hard to live with. I’m quiet, I don’t require a deposit, and as far as the place, outside of the little Mexican girls ages 2 to 4 that loves to run across the ceiling its quiet and peaceful.

I don’t require and its optional that a roomy helps with cable and or Internet, or if a utility like power or natural gas goes up, they help, but I’ve never held a gun to someone's head.

Of course there’s my ex roomy, who got bitchy and grumpy. I’m a 55 year old Marine, that does not relish nor handle drama. You got a problem, fine we talk, but way after I wake up, and way, way after my coffee. My ex-roomy didn’t grasp that, but he moved down the street, and only by choice.

But after the dinky rooms and lack of shared expansion of living space, my little room is a mansion. My rent rate of $300.00 a month, breaks down to $200.00 per month for the room, plus the other $100.00 of the $300.00 helps with those other slight extra expenses, as well gives me a bit more green in my jeans, but I never charge a first, last months rent or a bunch of upfront money. The $300.00 gets you in the door, and you can come and go as one wishes.

Plus I don’t require your life’s history, nor a pint of blood for a processing fee. I was down with a place in Bountiful earlier today, but shute I have to rake out more than I make just to get a foot in the door. Both places I looked at will be around a long time. I’d rather run the commute from Ogden to Woods Cross.

Wet dreams at double nickel

max o logo main1TOEW TYMEZ

So there you are hauling down the big black ribbon, and you see these super hot legs in a suv. Of course your looking from the upper level of a view few 4wheelers can see. So you think dang that’s hot. When you notice there’s one big bad guy most often with a name of Bubba with no neck driving, but dang she looked good.

You can nearly smell the purrfumed nyloned toes, you can smell the fragrance of her neck, and yet protocol, and proper decorum, says YOU need to be a gentleman or at least suppress the sheer desire, and ignore the fact your britches are on fire.

At 55mph, or at 55 years old the equipment might need a bit more work to get it cranked up, but once its going, and you get a little, even Fiffy looks good to a mate starved high octane kynyne of the interstate. Or at least this one. However as hungry as I am, I’m as picky as can be.

I had this gal at the OutLaw Saloon here in Ogden ask me last night just what it takes to get this old long haul dog to get frisky. It’s the same thing I tell everyone, and its accurate. THE FORMULAnOW THIS MAY SOUND LIKE SOME OLD wOLF A BARKING, BUT UNDERSTAND, I’M GETTING TO A POINT.

Old Wolvez like myself have a difficult time in finding companionship of the female gender. First ages of the available prey is a quandry to say the least. The ones who do look good, seem to be legal tender are not legal or just barely legal. The older ones are to set in their ways so a connection there is out of the question. Oh sure there are the online matchmaker services, but too often you have to pay a bunch of money, just to really get something going and then it’s a big question if you can even get a personal phone call. Example, an outfit called Piece of Fish, that claims to be free , isn’t. In fact none of them are and being one to shy away from uneducated or unknown predictable risks, I will not pay some outfit just to taste some sugar.

Of course you friends will say there’s plenty to pick from, at bars, really, I want someone who looks at me for me, not just a drunk night of sex, although here lately I’d nearly settle for that. Then there are those that say, well there’s church. Really? Seen what’s available at Church? No matter the denomination, its either way too young or way to old.

So where does a good old highway hookin, gear splitting road Dog like me find romance, not just sex?

I have always been a fan in more ways than one, of the idea, of brothels like they have in Nevada, being legalized in all states. Why not? Granted you have to pay for it, but at least you get what you need, and if you want fantasy, you can send that gal gifts and treat her like your special gal. For those purists out there that think marriage or just dating is free, think, if you pay for a night out, dinner, movie, drinks etc, your paying for it and nearly what you pay at a brothel.

We’re going to explore this a bit on Maximum Overdrive overnight.

More l8r, good numbers we’re 10-10 on the side.

The images of trucking and towing, unfortunately

max o web blog coverhooker phootenotes1

If one were to go back to a both vibrant but innocent time, you’d find the images of Trucking. Overdrive Magazine at the time portrayed the industry as a class act, and for those who loved female beauty to enhance a rig , Overdrive kept right in step.

Of course the sponsors weren’t bashful either;

Peterbilt before the merge with Kenworth , which produced the company Paccar , had some classy pics for the back cover of most Overdrive issues:

Unfortunately the tow truck big or small , never saw this kind of attention. Which was unfortunate. Even though Overdrive featured a Wrecker of the month;March1974WreckeroftheMonth-vi (1)March1977WreckeroftheMonth-vinobody at either Overdrive or Owner/Operator ever let a Canon go loose on a tow truck with a snazzy gal.

What changes? That in our next installment.
